Standardisation, Codification & Measurement
This is the architectural backbone that makes every other focus area possible. Rather than seven separate tools, FlexibleX applies one discipline — standardise the definition, codify it into a master scheme, measure standard against actual — consistently across activities, time, labor, cost, reporting, and risk.
One Register, Six Entity Types
Every entity type in the system is the same table with a different CLIENTTYPEID — one codification engine, not six.
What's Needed
- Standardisation: uniform, agreed definitions for every task, deliverable, and resource type before it is ever logged against.
- Codification: a structured master classification scheme so that any project, activity, resource, or expense can be uniquely identified and rolled up for analysis.
- Measurement: a consistent way to compare standard (planned/estimated) values against actual values — for time, quantity, and cost alike.
How FlexibleX Delivers It
| Codification Family | Example Codes | Feeds Into |
|---|---|---|
| Project / Sub-Project / Sequence / Activity | PJT-001-2021, P001-SUBS001, ACT0001… | Focus Area 1 |
| Resource Register (labor, admin, equipment, facility, output) | RES-LBR-CONSULAR, RES-EQP-BIOMETRIC | Focus Area 3 |
| Labor & Expense Catalog | LBR-DIP-ATTACHE, EXP-TRV-PER, EXP-FAC-LSE | Focus Area 4 |
| Unit of Measure | LS, M2, M3, Hours, Unit Days | All focus areas |
One codification scheme, reused everywhere — the same pattern already proven across multi-stage program delivery.
Measurement is likewise one formula applied system-wide:
…whether the “measure” is a physical quantity (Focus Area 1), a duration (Focus Area 3), or a cost (Focus Area 4). Unposted or unreconciled entries are automatically flagged until reviewed.
| Activity Code | Operational Description | Basic Task Time | Total SST | Staffing Benchmark |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ACT-CON-PAS | Consular Passport Renewal Verification | 10 min | 12 min | Consular Attaché |
| ACT-CON-BIO | Field Biometric & Photo Capture | 6 min | 8 min | Technical Officer |
Example Standard Service Baseline Catalog entries — the same table structure FlexibleX would maintain for any Mission activity once standardised and codified.
